saltygirl:  hey kids!  do you know what tmoro is?
stanky kids:  cinco de mayo!  *pops open a few bottles of corona & dons sombreros*
saltygirl:  ok, besides being cinco de mayo, do you know what tmoro also is?
stanky kids:  ...saturday?  wooHOO!  cartoons!  *grabs super sugary cereal & hops around w/ corona & sombrero*
saltygirl:  no, dammit!  now stop jumping your asses around & listen.  tmoro is FREE COMIC BOOK DAY.  a day where any1 can go into their local comic book shop & get free comic books.  & who doesn't like free stuff, eh?  a day where you could quite possibly meet w/ fellow comic enthusiasts & maybe even a few local comic book artists.

comic books have been looked down on for quite some time now, being called anything from subpar literature to cheap, mindless entertainment for little kids.  the truth is, comics have been around for a long time & cover a wide range of genres (the usu. capes & tights, slice-of-life drama, horror, sci-fi, real life biographies, etc).  & not only that, but so many talented artists put their hearts & souls into comic books (jack kirby, alex ross, george perez, frank franzetta, mike mignola, etc.).  comic books are simply another medium for storytelling & expression, just like the classic novel & epic poem.  if comic books were so lowly, why would so many great movies ("road to perdition", "v for vendetta", "300", "a history of violence", etc.) come from them?

so celebrate FREE COMIC BOOK DAYsupport the comic book medium & comic book creators, & get your free comic book!  VIVA LA FREE COMIC BOOK DAY!!!

(this overly enthusiastic public service announcement was brought to you by saltygirl...& the letter 'p' for 'poop.')

p.s.  if you're in the memphis area, MAW Productions will have a signing @:

--comics & collectables @ 4730 poplar ave. from 10am-12:30pm.

--comic cellar @ 4728 yale from 2pm-4pm.

come out & shake hands w/ the creators of Jetta: Tales of the Toshigawa, pick up a few Jetta books, & yeah, get some frees stuff, too.

I was looking to see if your book was around today. I didn't see anything and wasn't sure how much distribution it was getting, me being in Michigan and such. I hope today went awesome for you!!! :)

oh yeah ummm about that... my husband & i are our own distributors since diamond distributions have a monopoly on who & what they carry. :( we mainly sell stuff around memphis since we're cool w/ the TWO (yeah, 2) comic book stores here. our national distribution consists of ppl going to our site [link] & ordering online.

but we did find on the back of a free arcana book the 'war of independents' roster w/ Jetta on it. that was a nice surprise.

That is awesome! I am going to order a book here soon, I am really digging the character. I just have to get off my but and do it.
